I have been a member of The Legend Singers since 1997. I have sung under the direction of Dr. Wilson since 1996; I currently also sing in the InUnison Chorus. I am a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and a proud alumnus of the Charles Sumner High School, the oldest African American high scholl west of the Mississippi. I love music - vocal, piano, trumpet, french horn.

I have sung off and on with The Legend singers since 1952. I began singing at age 8, and sang with the Sumner A Capella Choir from1952 to 1955. I received a Bachelor of Music Education from Lincoln University, served as Ast. Band Conductor/Conductor US Army, Bamberg Germany 1960 to 1962, have served as Senior Choir Director at St. Paul AME Church, Chancel Choir Director at Berea Presbyterian Church, and sang with Grace Bumbry's Black Heritage Ensemble in Europe. From singing with my mother as a child, to singing.at Carnegie Hall and before descendants of some of the crowned heads of Europe, choral music has been a source of purest joy, history, expression and social enrichment.

I have sung in the bass section of The Legend Singers for the past 5 years. I have also sung with a lot of other choirs but none like The Legend Singers. I have really been inspired by Dr Wilson’s choral teaching.

I have been a proud member of this august body of singers since 1996. I also sing with the St. Louis Symphony’s InUnison Chorus. I fell in love with “our” genre of music when I entered college at Harris-Stowe State, where Dr. Wilson allowed me to audition for the Concert Chorale. Under her skillful baton my love for the spiritual has grown into a passion. It is an honor to help preserve “our” style of music for generations to come!
